Workshop: 'datalink services enabling ATM efficiency: the role of Iris and multilink'
We are pleased to invite you to 'Datalink services enabling ATM efficiency: the role of Iris and multilink'.
This one-day workshop aims to provide European airlines and ANSPs with the latest perspective of multilink services enabled by Iris.
The workshop will feature several airlines and ANSPs presenting their current and future equipage plans, the expected benefits of using satcom for ATC and airlines operations, challenges of the air and ground deployment and possible early use cases with operational benefits. The workshop will also present the SESAR opportunities that can speed up the pan-European deployment of Iris in the multilink perspective.
Objectives of the workshop
The CNS evolution plan identifies several key drivers for the COM evolution, including addressing ATS and AOC needs, performance, resilience, capacity and multilink flexibility. Several technologies and subnetworks are listed in the 2035 implementation roadmap, including Iris. Deployment of these technologies is currently being discussed within CP2, as a key enabler to Trajectory-based operations.
Iris satcom
Three years after the service was certified, Iris is now operational in 4 ANSPs representing 40% of European airspace, with plans for a growing number of ANSPs and airlines equipping. The workshop is a unique opportunity for participants to get feedback from early users (airlines and ANSPs) on equipage and usage of the satcom service.
