As 2025 draws to a close, we look back on a year marked by progress, collaboration and a shared vision for the future of Air Traffic Management (ATM). Over the past 12 months, the SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM) has continued to stress the importance of pursuing ATM modernisation beyond 2027, when the Common Project 1 (CP1) Regulation will come to an end.

A major milestone this year was the Annual Meeting of Executives of the SESAR Deployment Industry Partnership (SDIP) on 1 October. At this occasion, SDIP members reaffirmed their commitment by signing a joint declaration of interest to sustain their engagement in ATM modernisation well beyond 2027.

Our collective efforts are delivering tangible results. With additional deployment projects completed this year, 91% of Common Project One (CP1) deployment is now either completed or in progress. By November 2025, 323 out of 359 Implementation Projects coordinated by SDM had been closed.

Looking ahead, momentum continues with ATM Functionality 6 (AF6), focusing on initial Trajectory Information Sharing by air navigation service providers and airspace users. This initiative will gain further traction thanks to €40 million in CEF grants under the CLEAN ATM 3 project, following the CEF 2 Transport Call 2024.

We therefore close another dynamic year with optimism and determination.

On behalf of the entire SESAR Deployment Manager team, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and Rewarding 2026!
