News and views of SESAR Deployment Manager # 3
Dear reader,
Almost two years before the end of the Common Project 1 Regulation (CP1) in December 2027, more than 91% of CP1 tasks are in operation or in the process of being deployed by the mandated operational stakeholders. In the last decade (2014-2024), almost € 3 billion were invested by the ATM industry and – despite being still in the ramp-up phase of benefits – already returned operational improvements equivalent for double of this amount.
This success stems from the long-standing commitment and unprecedented industry-driven work performed by SESAR deployment stakeholders towards the goal of modernising and digitalising European Air Traffic Management. The unique co-creation model that defines our approach and its inclusive engagement of stakeholders through joint teams, joint management and shared governance, allowed us to gain trust from both ATM industry and EU institutions, allowing the SESAR Deployment Manager to deliver on all its initial promises.
With several new challenges to be faced in the future, the 21 Members of SESAR Deployment and Infrastructure Partnership recently met in their Annual Conference of Executives in Brussels on October 1st to confirm and further strengthen their commitment to continue the partnership and deepen their resolve and ambition.
Through a dedicated Declaration signed by its top Executives, Airports, Airlines, Air Navigation Service Providers and EUROCONTROL Network Manager agreed to explore new opportunities and solutions to contribute to the objectives of the Single European Sky II+ Regulation, and in particular to foster and accelerate modernisation of the ATM infrastructure in the future, in full cooperation and partnership with the Implementing Partners.
On behalf of our Members, we want to further reinforce the ambition of SDIP and all its Members to continue to be a force of change for ATM in Europe - As One Team.
